A couple of quick and dirty shots, with press stuff to follow

G'day,

i thought you may be interested; the new Saxonia
range (details to follow) is a LOT nicer in nature!

The press pics just don´t do them
honour.

Well, mine don´t do as well, but then this may be
good for a rough idea:

I must say, i really like the new Saxonia
range.

Both case sizes (37mm and 40.6mm) make for nice
proportions and the range of dial colours is just nice.

Finally, for this very quick and very first
impression, Lange´s "big mac" and talking piece, the "Lange 31" in the
metal:

More later, particularly with some more telling
text and all stats!

Greetings from Geneva,

Peter

The decease of the 1815 will include all models

 By: PeterCDE : April 16th, 2007-04:57
Just a preliminary information: All 1815 models will be discontinued, which includes the chronograph. The newly refreshed "Saxonia" models update this existing range and include models of the 1815 and Langematik lines. The result is a "condensed" portfoli...

the 1815 is the first . . . .

Uhhmmm, Peter, do you actually sleep every once in a while??

Thanks for the quick and dirty shots ... so the 1815 line is completely discontinued ... even the 1815 CHR ... pitty! The new Saxonia´s look very good, esp. the bigger one! Thanks Peter Edwin

Don't think 1815 Chrono is discontinued--

Lange website has now been updated, and you will find that the entire 1815 ranges were removed from the website so one would undoubtedly assume that ALL 1815 models are discontinued. But if you check out a newly introduced "chronographs" subfolder, you wi...

Thanks ... the 1815 CHR is indeed still listed on the Lange website ...

Peter, perhaps you can ask the Lange ppl if the chronograph will be discontinued as well as the ' uncomplicated' 1815's. Normally it takes until October (approx) for new models to hit the AD´s- MSRP ... I am very curious as well. The LE Cuvette costs 22K ...

Yes, but i´ve asked for that one

Word is - no 1815 model anymore. In SIHH, the 1815 Chronograph isn´t exhibited as well. The 40mm variant wears a lot more nicely than pictures may suggest; that one is a really cool piece. More as things unfold, hopefully tomorrow; aside from a couple of ...

One more - the new Saxonia´s do have really nice proportions

 By: PeterCDE : April 16th, 2007-16:23
I kinda like these; it´s not the 1800´s style of the 1815 and not the somewhat amorphous design elements of some Langematik models. As a package, i find this to work; on the wrist, they do even more. And that comes from someone devoted to 35mm cases... Be...

Very nice...my only complaint...the crown!

Overall, very nice job by Lange on the Saxonia re-issue. Tastefully done. The case proportions seem ideal. The dial is well-executed and thankfully the arched Lange moniker is included rather than the horizontal moniker presented on the previous Saxonia. ...

Winding Crown

Keep in mind, these are prototypes

The real thing may be a little different in some details, so the crown may or may not be the same for production models! And yes, i like it MUCH better than the Saxonia too It´s certainly interesting, particularly as it breaks with some "Lange-typical" de...

The Saxonia has always been such a beautiful piece...

It's great to see the "revival" of it. The dial/metal combinations seem extremely appealing.
