I think the watch contains a large central silicon balance wheel with low amplitude while having a high frequency? I think I saw it before in Biver's wrist on one of the reports on thewatchestv... But it was said that it'll be a new movement for Tag Heuer...
This is the general problem I have with this new "nano" technology stuff. Somehow, the emotional attraction gets lost. I even cannot explain why exactly. It is like you have an oldtimer car that gets a new state of the art engine...
But we don't recall all the carriage drivers and stable boys (and horses) which went out of work. Or think about perhaps 1 million lives lost annually due to accidents which might be saved by safer vehicles. No progress without pain, it seems.
They have been working on this for quite some time and think they have such problems pretty well taken care of. They know everyone will be looking to try to find the weaknesses of the system. I have not yet seen anything, but from some fuzzy pictures take...
without friction etc, crazy clever development, wonderful, aesthetically i would stick to balance wheel, palet-pin/anchor, escapement, i like it a lot but technically, this is a revolution. well done Zenith. oops, i forgot to mention, extreeeeeme accuracy...
