I share a few of my favorite KIS watches here…

By: Subexplorer : March 1st, 2024-12:57
More will be shared along the weekend!! Enjoy this edition of WS so much! Best! Abel Panerai offers many KIS watches in their catalogue. Guess it is part of their DNA... A simple KIS timepice from IWC this vintage Ingenieur KIS and funky Zenith... KIS and...

Wow 🤩….

By: Cpt Scarlet : March 1st, 2024-13:58
Hello dear friend ! Tremendous photos and some cool “KIS” watches to start the WristScan theme this weekend. In the words of Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger …. I’ll be back 😎

Thank you so much dear S F for your kind comments on my choices and for sharing these additional beautiful KIS watches in your collection.

By: Subexplorer : March 2nd, 2024-01:10
Panerai offers many KIS watches following their heritage. Impressive L&H. Very nice!! And Grand Seiko always a favorite brand. Hagwe my friend!! Abel

Wow, dear Abel.. As expected you show a nice portfolio.. I specifically like the first two Panerais.. but also..

By: hs111 : March 3rd, 2024-09:59
.. your Reverso TT1931 (a reference we share); the IWC Ingenieur for sure is a pleasure to see and wear ! Last but not least I also liked your early Rolex KIS specimens, such as the Ranchero & DJ examples, especially tha last Datejust pic of your series, ...

Hello my dear friend HS for your kind comments on my choices and I appologize for my late answer to you and my hosting as I lacked Internet connection during whole Sunday.

By: Subexplorer : March 4th, 2024-15:11
I´m happy to know you liked my choices to open the KIS watch event and I´m always thankful for your so kind comments on my posts. I wish you enjoyed your weekend and will have a nice week ahead. Best cordial regards, Abel.

Hello Abel,

By: KURT_DAVID : March 1st, 2024-13:56
Thanks for hosting this month and great theme BTW. Here’s a few from the archives and also something from Mrs K… HAGWE 🍻 ...

Hello dear Kurt! Thank you so much for your great entry. My big pleasure to host this weekend. Lovely patina on your BB Tudor bronzo.

By: Subexplorer : March 1st, 2024-14:58
This is a great watch. I own the brown dial version and enjoy it so much too. Great underwater shot. And a lovely contribution from Mrs. K and her OP Rolex which epitomizes the KIS watch concept. Hagwe! Abel

Wow dear HSTE ! That´s a wonderful example of a KIS watch. It´s lacking of seconds hands compensate the date window appearance here. Lol! And you are sharing...

By: Subexplorer : March 1st, 2024-15:03
... a superb example of the watch watch which started the Royal Oak Legend! The dial patina adds to its charm and interest of this timeless design. Keep enjoying it so much and thank you so much for sharing. Hagwe! Abel

A few images I’ve posted before, sorry, no energy to take new photos today.

By: Emil Wojcik : March 1st, 2024-14:48
Some of my simpler watches, with the JD Grande Heure Minute being about as simple as you can get, not only in function but design. ...

Thank you so much for your entry Emil! Always a pleasure to view your shots. Don´t worry if you have posted pictures before. We sometimes need to draw upon our HD´s pictures...

By: Subexplorer : March 1st, 2024-15:11
... to participate in WS as not always have the time needed to shoot special pictures around the Theme. You share some wonderful timepieces here (and details or no less wonderful cars of course). Love your AP KIS watch and of course both of your superb JD...

Hours. Minutes.

By: Ivo22 : March 1st, 2024-16:49
This one was granted some wrist time lately. A pleasure to wear and to look at. Thank you for this weeks topic. Best, Ivo ...

Thank you, it‘s a 19 sadly

By: Ivo22 : March 2nd, 2024-22:23
tapering down to 16 at the buckle. But the watch comes with a second strap (dark blue croc, like usual croc leather lined). Best, Ivo

Less is sometimes more …

By: Cpt Scarlet : March 1st, 2024-18:57
Especially when it comes from another dimension ;-)) … To infinity and beyond ! … See you all tomorrow folks for another “KIS” selection ! Best Captain ...

That second shot is great!

By: KURT_DAVID : March 1st, 2024-19:11
Official timekeeper of: “The United Federation of Planets” Channeling my inner Trekkie😀 Well done Cpt.

Wow Captain!! You really surprised me! Is this a new arrival? This watch is fitting for Captain Scarlet, looks like beyond telling time it serves to trace Mysterons presence! ;)

By: Subexplorer : March 2nd, 2024-01:47
I specially like your second shot which captures to perfection the character of this futuristic watch. Enjoy your weekend my dear friend. Look forward to more KIS watches in your collection! Abel

Hopefully he hasn’t got enough rocket fuel for the return journey 😉

By: Cpt Scarlet : March 3rd, 2024-10:22
The interesting thing is that this watch is a real conversation starter and I find it very refreshing. It generates less envy and a more positive conversation about watches. I think it should be named “The Friendship”

Didn’t realize I had so many that qualified until I started looking 🤣

By: Timeout : March 1st, 2024-18:57
A simple 2 hander with an exposed movement. No one does thin like Piaget. Although this lost the title of the thinnest watch many years back, I’ll take the additional mm or 2 for the elegance of the dial. The Traditionelle Small Seconds is still a “go to”...

Wow dear Timeout!! Breathtaking array of KIS watches in your entry! Rotating bezels qualify as they are not mechanical so not a true complication I feel.

By: Subexplorer : March 2nd, 2024-01:53
You share superb KIS watches here fitting in the Theme, even if their stunning dials are not really simple. A gift for the eyes. I can understand your fondness for your beautiful Santos by Cartier. Beautiful collection! Thank you so much for sharing. Hagw...

Thanks Abel.

By: Timeout : March 2nd, 2024-15:10
The Santos Dumont has such a rich history with Cartier - first wrist watch - arguably the first sports/aviation watch too. Definitely one of my favorites!

Many thanks!

By: Timeout : March 2nd, 2024-15:13
The Vacheron is such a beautifully simple watch - with an outstanding movement. I’ve had this white gold one for many years. I must say that I do like the boutique only grey dial model, but had already jumped in when this one was released.

You’re welcome.

By: Timeout : March 2nd, 2024-15:16
The Grönefeld is another one of my favorites. For the longest while I thought I’d go for the 1941 Remontoire- but the symmetry of the Principia won me over 😊

Thank you so much Abel for your kind words!

By: KCLQMULKU : March 2nd, 2024-08:10
I always find the simple to be just as beautiful and inspiring as the complicated (with a splash of coolness of course)!

We're Just A Simple Loving Family... Enjoying Time Together

Btw mom passed about four months ago. So yes, the photo is from a very happy family moment.. together.

Welcome to our event analog_sheen!! KIS watches is a great subject to collect watches around it. As you and other participants well show along this thread, "Simple" doesn´t mean...

By: Subexplorer : March 2nd, 2024-02:24
... that these timepieces can´t be gorgeous and stunning. These three watches are superb and I specially love your Gronefeld. The meteorite dial adds to the charm and interest in this example you own. Keep enjoing them so much. Hagwe! Abel

I love this selection

Having owned an origin, I know that it is so satisfying on the wrist! The shape of the case and hands cannot be captured by photo. Gmt CEP tradionelle may be my favorite modem vc. Wish I hadn't waited so long to pursue the other platinum version, which be...

The Laurent Ferrier

By: Volney. : March 3rd, 2024-10:34
I admire much. It captures very well an entire century of fine watchmaking.

Hello Jaseewasee! Welcome to our classic event! You share two great KIS watches in two great shots. Well played!

By: Subexplorer : March 2nd, 2024-02:34

Hello Greg! Three nice KIS watches you are sharing here. Thank you for this entry. I like so much your two vintage watches which have such a charming look.

By: Subexplorer : March 2nd, 2024-02:41
I specially love your Grenchen "Packman" (inspired in a vintage model of that brand) with those so special indexes which add to its charm. Great pictures to share them. Keep enjoying so much your KIS timepieces and Hagwe! Abel

Somewhat precious for today's cramming at the library,

By: Volney. : March 2nd, 2024-08:19
But yet simple somehow. Picture 1: Vacheron Constantin Ref. 6115 A., fitted with Cal. 1003/1 (from a private European collection). Picture 2: Vacheron Constantin Ref. 6115 A., fitted with Cal. 1003/1 (from a private European collection). ...

This is the first Vacheron Constantin I have bought.

By: Volney. : March 3rd, 2024-10:39
Cal. 1003 is perhaps the movement that made me better understand what the stakes are in watchmaking.

Way too kind,

By: Volney. : April 16th, 2024-15:44
But let's both agree that our admiration should go to the watchmaker!

A watch isn’t ,,simple,, for me . They all are mechanical marvels to me

By: Watchonthewrists : March 2nd, 2024-08:21
Lets see if i can show some ,,simple,, ones This Moser is my definition of a clean and ,,simple ,, . Less is more Hope you enjoy them 🙏🏻 Hagwe 🙏🏻🤗 ...

Ahh Watchonthewrists!! What a marvelous collection of KIS watches. Agree with you: simple or just two or three hands doesn´t mean they are not marvelous pieces.

By: Subexplorer : March 2nd, 2024-13:03
All of them perfectly fit in the theme of this weekend. I would say the Moser wins in the minimalistic display of time. Fantastic! Great pictures to boot. Thank you for your entry! Hagwe, Abel

Quality ! …

By: Cpt Scarlet : March 4th, 2024-15:11
Fabulous selection of simple on the outside, easy on the eye and beautifully made.

Hermes KIS with the H08

By: iceheller 1945 ✌️ : March 2nd, 2024-10:19
The composite material makes the watch simple but with technological edge! With Titanium back, ceramic bezel and fiber glass composite case, that a lot of cutting edge watch materials in one simple watch! ...

I waited fr a year actually and I happen to dropby Hermes last week…

It was a W&W 2023 release but I never seen it in shop until last week despite occasionally dropping in a few time. You can find my older post grumbling about it. The price increased 600 from 2023 release to 2024. I just grab it as it the only piece th...

Nice theme, dear Abel.

By: COUNT DE MONET : March 2nd, 2024-10:24
Hallo dear Abel! Since exactly two months I am exploring the behaviour of my latest watch, which is simple but very enjoyable. It is the perfect daily beater, running only -1 second today, after two months wearing. The reason is, it is reliably running in...

OMG!

By: iceheller 1945 ✌️ : March 2nd, 2024-11:30
It not Oh Mine Gosh, it OMeGa! Railmaster rocks! Was tempted to get one when I saw this more than decade ago but back then I am a stance ball watch supporter. 😅

Stance ball watch? 🤔

Such a great Railmaster!

By: R. Goodfellow : March 3rd, 2024-23:28
An under appreciated version of the watch with a good variety of sizes and even a chronograph option. There's also a chronograph with red accents that was made for the China market. So much more to explore than the Explorer! 🫢

Hello dear friend Yacomino!! Thank you so much for your contribution to the theme. I´m happy to know you like our theme.

By: Subexplorer : March 2nd, 2024-13:21
Fantastic choices all of them. Some of them we share owning so you know my big love with them. I would say my favorite is your Chopard orange dial. Stunning piece!! Great shots to share them here. Keep enjoying and loving your KIS watches so much my dear ...

I learned this reply from my dear mother when my father asked her about a particular item of clothing or accessory…. “This old thing ?…. it’s been in my wardrobe for years” 😉

At heart, I'm a simple guy—a book, a whisky (neat), and a time-only watch are my ingredients for happiness.
